I began my career
as a freelance journalist in 1988, working for national
and regional newspapers while studying in Dublin.
By the early
1990s I had diversified into specialist publications, initially
in the property sector where I covered housing issues for
magazines including 24Housing, Estates Gazette, Overseas
Property Professional and Landlord & Buy to Let.
By the middle
of that decade my focus had shifted to telecommunications
and IT. I developed an extensive knowledge of the telecommunications
industry in particular, writing articles for Global Telephony,
Global Wireless, Mobile Communications, Telecoms Markets,
Fibre Systems, Call Centre Focus, Wireless Europe, Carriers
World, IT Europa and many other international publications.
Since the early
2000s my work has focused on finance, with a particular
emphasis on foreign exchange, treasury and wealth management.
I have become a regular contributor to leading titles such
as Euromoney, Family Office, Private Banker International,
The Treasurer, FX-MM, Treasury Today and Global Investor.
I am also active
in the professional services sector, writing for International
Accounting Bulletin, Economia, Leasing Life, Mena Insurance
Review and The Accountant.
